TheenzymecleavesN-glycanswithorwithoutα(1,3)-linkedcorefucoseresiduespresentininsectandplantglycoproteins.ThisdiffersfromPNGaseF,whichcannotremoveN-glycanswithα(1,3)-linkedcorefucose. PNGaseArequiresglycopeptidesassubstrates.Glycopeptidescanbeobtainedbydigestingtheglycoproteinwithtrypsin[1,2]orpepsin.Doesnotacton(GlcNAc)-Asn,becauseitrequiresthepresenceofmorethantwoaminoacidresiduesinthesubstrate.
